Celebrity
A division of Royal Caribbean since June 1996. They sail Bermuda, Panama Canal, Caribbean, Alaska, South America and Europe. Considered a Contemporary Upscale product, their ships are well designed and their staff is gracious. There can be seen the influence of Royal Caribbean, but one has to look for it and be an experienced cruiser with both lines.
Their claim to fame is their dining and menu preparation by Michael Roux, considered one of the most honored master chefs in the world. They consider themselves 5 star white glove dining.
When Celebrity Cruises came into existence in 1990, their real claim to fame was the size of their cabins, bathrooms and showers which are considered large even today.
A few years back they introduced private butler service (over and above cabin stewards) in their suites. An exceptional touch and very well received by those who book suites.
Traditional two seatings for evening meals in formal restaurants, with specialty optional restaurants on the Millennium class ships, casual dining on upper decks. Large spas, cigar clubs, martini and champagne bars.
Two formal nights per 7 day cruise and other evenings are resort casual.
