Princess offers a wide variety of cruises that are "casually elegant" for its passengers who are generally in the 50+ age group with higher incomes. The line's destinations are worldwide including Alaska with extensive land tour packages in conjunction with their cruises, Bermuda, Caribbean, Europe, Asia and Hawaii. Their dining rooms have Italian staff. Princess places a heavy emphasis on their onboard entertainment.

Having become nationally recognized because of the television show of the 80's, they adopted the tag line from the show “The Love Boat”. For years, Princess was anti families based upon how they built their ships. In the past few years, they have changed their opinion of families as this is now the largest segment of the cruising population and they are now trying to target them. They have children’s facilities on their newest ships and their children’s program is in operation when there are ample children on board. Princess claims that they are able to offer something for everyone.

Multiple dining options, as well as traditional two seatings. Alternative Italian restaurant requires reservations. Two major shows nightly repeated at intervals. They have eliminated the traditional Captain’s Welcome Parties and midnight buffets, substituting cocktail parties and 24 hour meal service in Lido areas, which become supper clubs on some ships.
