Sickness Cancellation
You are protected financially if your trip is canceled, interrupted or delayed for reasons, such as:
sickness, injury or death of you, a family member or traveling companion.
Carrier Default
Default of the airline, cruise line or tour operator that results in the complete cessation of services or filing bankruptcy. Excluded is the organization from which you purchased this coverage.
Unforeseen circumstances, such as:
- Inclement weather
- Termination of employment or layoff affecting you or a traveling companion.
(Must have been with the same employer for at least 5 continuous years.)
- Acts of terrorism. (Certain restrictions apply.)
- Organized labor strike that affects public transportation
Excluded are carrier-caused delays or cancellations, personal financial circumstances, business or contractual
obligations, government regulations, or change of plans.
Trip Cancellation
Reimburses your pre-paid non-refundable cancellation charges for covered reasons,
up to the amount of coverage purchased.
Trip Interruption
Reimburses your pre-paid unused, non-refundable portion of your trip payment, plus the cost
of returning home, up to the amount of coverage purchased.
Trip Delay
Reimburses you for reasonable additional accommodations and traveling expenses
until travel
is possible, if your trip is delayed more than 6 hours. Payable for only one delay for all insured.
Receipts are required for proof of loss. Included are carrier-caused delays.
Baggage & Travel Documents
Covers loss, theft or damage to your luggage and possessions, even if borrowed or rented.
It covers loss of all passports, visas and unauthorized use of credit cards. Maximum benefit may not to
exceed $3,000 per family.
Baggage Delay
This benefit will reimburse for the purchase of essential items if your baggage is delayed
more than 24 hours. Receipts are required for proof of loss.
Medical Expense
If you are injured or get sick during your trip, this benefit will reimburse any medical
expenses within one year of the trip provided initial treatment was received
during the trip.
Some of the coverage includes:
- Medical and surgical treatment by a licensed physician
- Professional nursing
- Hospital, x-ray and ambulance services.
- Emergency dental treatment by a licensed dentist, only during your trip.
Emergency Medical Transportation
Covers transportation ordered by a doctor to the nearest adequate medical facility such as.
airfare from that facility to your return destination within one year from original completion date.
up to $5,000 for special medical escort if recommended in writing
by a doctor.
Accidental Death/Dismemberment
Will compensate the expenses incurred for loss of life or limb within 365 days
of an accident during your trip.
Flight Guard
For air travel protection, there is a program called Flight Guard.
It covers death and loss of hand, foot or eyesight within 365 days of an accident while traveling
on a regularly scheduled flight or charter.
24-Hour Emergency Hotline
Emergency assistance for your peace of mind anywhere in the world.
This service includes:
- Advancement of funds to cover emergency medical expenses on your trip.
- Telephone interpretation in major languages.
- Assistance with replacement of travel documents.
- Help in locating local physicians, dentists or medical facilities.
- Pre-existing Medical Conditions
Pre-existing medical conditions are accepted if insurance is purchased within fourteen days of trip booking. Otherwise there is no compensation for loss or expense incurred as the result of injury or sickness for the insured or family member. The pre-existing medical condition must exist 60 days preceding and including the effective date of the cruise.
Family Member Means
Insured's or traveling companion's spouse, child, parent, sibling, grandparent, step-parent, In-law, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew, legal guardian, or ward.
Family Protection
Children 16 and under receive full coverage at no additional charge when all accompanying
adults purchase the insurance. Full insurance benefits apply per person. Maximum baggage benefit,
if applicable, may not to exceed $3,000 per family. This benefit is not intended to cover groups traveling
together other than for purposes of family travel.
Initial Trip Payment Means
The date the first deposit is made to your travel agent toward the cost of your trip.
The Application
Application may be mailed, phoned or faxed in up to 24 hours prior to departure.
Insurance may be purchased by anyone residing in the U.S. at the time of purchase or by Canadian residents
providing they are booking through a U.S. travel agent.
